day 2

jacob and I went to the fair again today. I really wanted to take him to the barns.





we loved every minute of the day. we parked our car and then took the city bus. we saw a ton of animals and jacob petted most of them. we ate more french fries, went to the lactation station (which by the way is really nice. wicker rocking chairs, changing tables, fans, water), saw a parade and visited jim.

I love the state fair. I think it might be the best place to people watch. Yesterday Jacob and I made our way there and met up with Casey's family. We went to the Miracle of Birth Center, ate Fresh French Fries, played on machinery hill, walked a ton and enjoyed ourselves. The weather was perfect not too hot and the crowd was barely a crowd. Jacob loved watching all of the people from the comfort of his stroller. He also loved playing on the tractors and cannot wait to be a dairy farmer someday.





I took Jacob home at around 6 so that he could go to bed and I could come back to see Brandi Carlile with Annie and Maria. It was so fun to go back and eat even more good food, buy the infamous broom and enjoy awesome music with two great people.







Jacob and I are going back tomorrow to go through the animal barns and hit up the lactation station. More from us tomorrow and hopefully with better quality pictures from my new camera.

fun weekend

this weekend was so fun. we went to the farm to celebrate dad's birthday. there were a great bunch of people out there to celebrate a terrific man.

we enjoyed climbing trees, seeing chickens, eating good food, hanging out with cousins and grandparents and relaxing.

I realized this weekend that the farm puts me in a totally different mindset. Sure I think about naps and schedules but I enjoy not thinking about the next errand I have to do or the email that hasn't been checked. We are so blessed to be able to visit and enjoy one another in a beautiful place and that two of my favorite people live so close.

a new job

jacob and i started a new nannying job last week. we love the kids and it has been a great environment for us so far. there are hard things about it. we have to get out of the house early, we don't have our toys to play with and we take naps in a new environment. the naps are getting better and i might bring one of our toys to play with each week. they have lots of trucks and not much of anything else. surely there are other things then trucks to play with for little boys.

speaking of trucks the road that the family lives on is being redone so there have been tons of trucks around lately. the boys love staring out the front door at them all day. we also go outside and sit on the front steps to watch but only for a little bit because g. is a little scared.

i feel like i have been waiting a really long time for these.

jacob is becoming such a poser for pictures. when i tell him to smile he throws his head back and grins so big. so cute. ill have to make a video of it tomorrow. i promise jane.

we will miss you jane

Jacob and I have been so blessed to have Jane live with us this past year. We are sad to see her go but will always cherish the memories we have with her living with us. It was so fun to share Jacob's first year with Jane.

We will miss you everyday but are so excited for your next few years in Illinois.

dinnertime

we ate a really good dinner tonight with Jacob sitting at the table with us and feeding himself for the first time. It was really fun to watch him.
