9 months!!!

time sure flies when you are having fun. Jacob has added so much joy to my life in the last 9 months. I really can't believe that he is already 9 months old. It seems like just last month I was bringing him home from the hospital and learning all of his sounds, likes and dislikes.

This week he has even started taking a few steps. Walking is scary to me. He loves Standing on his own and beating his chest. It is really funny to see.

I wish I could post some pictures but my memory card is not with my camera and my camera is not with it's batteries so I have taken no pictures this week. Instead I will post one of my many favorite pictures of Jacob.

Also, we sadly will be saying goodbye to Jacob's first friend Olive. She is going to go to a new house for daycare. Jacob will for sure miss her the most. They had so much fun together taking walks, reading, eating, and having the company of another child so close in age to play with. We were really blessed to have her come over each week and this house will feel a little emptier without her.

the week so far

Jacob and I went to see Aaron and Elizabeth's new farm. It is so beautiful and we had a great time. This is a view from their driveway to the farm across the way. I love how the rows look all neat and tidy which is why I took the picture. The property also has many beautiful flowers that are either in bloom or just about to bloom. We picked asparagus and looked over the previous owners vegetable garden which right now is overgrown. Jacob was able to meet his first rooster in person and was terribly frightened at the noise he made when we got to close to his chickens. The rooster has been in overprotective mode because the chickens had been being harassed.

This is there barn which sits empty for now except for cats and soon kittens. They have a barn!!! I just think it is so great, they really are living out their dreams of having a working farm someday. I am so excited for them!

This past weekend I went to a party for my friend Annie. We went to the 331 club and I highly recommend it. There was a cabaret and burlesque show and I had my first paid babysitter. I will be honest it was fun but I was checking my phone every 3 minutes worrying about Jacob the WHOLE time. He was fine and Jane was so helpful putting him to sleep for the babysitter, but still I worried.

i heart baby wearing

Jacob now takes naps and sleeps most of the night in his crib. This is last night. He always manages to take his pants off when I put him in his crib. I think it is when he stands up there crying for me. He hasn't put himself to sleep yet but I am sure in time he will. I am not too stressed about it anymore because I love the putting to sleep time we have.

I just bought another baby wearing device. I love them. I have been wanting one of these for quite awhile but they are pricey. I found this one at a going out of business sale. It is locally made and Amy Butler prints so I couldn't pass it up. Yesterday we took a walk wearing it like a backpack and Jacob loved it. I also wore it to IKEA the other day and was pointed at quite a few times. Not sure if they were good or bad points but it doesn't matter either way. Another great thing about this one is that you can use it for a couple of years.
