the garden so far

This past weekend I spent time in the garden with jacob. I cleared out all the leaves and sticks in hopes of planting soon, jacob helped by watching contently in the exersaucer. The rhubarb is growing fast and the rest will be soon.

I also cannot stand how cute jacob looks in this Twins hat.

the week so far...

this has already been a big week for jacob. he has started waving and does it quite a bit. he also has started to climb on things, especially stools and his walker. he is growing so fast and its crazy the new things he does everyday. this age is proving to be very fun and ever changing.

we are also working on a bedtime routine and along with that I am reading two books. one of the books is for a no cry sleep solution and the other is a cry it out solution. I wonder sometimes if there are only two solutions or if I should be reading a third book about sleeping solutions.

thanks Steph

We have received a ton of nice stuff from Steph and her kids. As I look around the house I see many things that her kids enjoyed and now Jacob enjoys daily. Also some new things like the awesome sling and really, really cute pajamas.

Jacob and Jane

Jacob and I are so lucky to live with Jane. She will babysit at the drop of a hat and always makes Jacob smile and laugh. He loves spending time with her everyday.

carrots=bad

Today I have learned a few things about Jacob. He does not like carrots. He did at the time I was feeding them to him but since he woke up from his too short of a nap its been a lot of tears and dirty diapers. I think maybe they gave him a stomach ache.
These are just an assortment of some pics. The middle one is from Friday when I gave him some yogurt to try. I think he liked it although it has way too much sugar to add to his diet daily.

cleaning

this past week I was cleaning and was reminded of the best cleaning product i have ever made. To be honest its the only I have made but I really like it and wanted to share it with you all. I found it in a great book called Clean House, Clean Planet

Alices Wonder Spray

Ingredients: liquid soap, white distilled vinegar, borax, purified water, and an essential oil
How to make: Mix 2 tbsp. of vinegar with 1 tsp. of borax. Fill the rest with very hot water. Shake until the borax is dissolved. Add 1/4 cup of soap last. To scent add 10-15 drops of an essential oil in a trigger spray bottle.

I did not use purified water and used Method go naked dish soap and this cleaner cleans everything. I love it. I put some lemon essential oil and it smells so good and clean. I use this from the bathroom to the kitchen and seriously an amazed at how well it cleans, especially the top of the stove.
Happy cheap, nontoxic cleaning!!!!
