Jacob wrote this letter to Santa this week. I am amazed by it because in October when he started Maple Tree he could not even write his name! proud mama!

a bus ride in the city

On Friday we took the kids for a city bus ride. A novelty for us.. We had fun going to choo choo bobs by bus. The kids were respectful of the others on the bus and had a good time. Emelia and Adele met us at the train store and took the bus back with us. We enjoyed lunch and a craft in the  afternoon. New tradition? Sounds good to me!

we haven't really seen dexter and adele since school started and these kids were so happy to see each other.

weekending

what a weekend! the weather is beautiful and a little frightening. mom and i went to the green gift fair again this year. we have a favorite vendor there who sells pine cones and other floral holiday decor type stuff. I came home and made my own wreath like the ones she makes. We had a nice sugary brunch with Dan and Annie on Sunday and then worked in the yard. We put up Christmas lights(!), planted bulbs and went to the cemetery to put up lights and plant two bulbs there. The kids were enjoyable and I swear Annie was there, except when her and jacob were having a sleepover with their dad. A first for annie!

 Sunday morning coloring

jacob showing us all of his notes. he is learning how to write names.
yum! brunch made by dan. donuts from church.

hard at work. this boy LOVES to work
.
don't worry the lights will stay off for another week.

update

So, I have neglected my blog. I am sad about this but want to keep posting. So here goes nothing. We have been enjoying our fall. It has been busy to say the least. Jacob and Annie are both in daycare full time. I really think they love it. Annie enjoys her teachers so much and hardly wants to come home at the end of the day. She is liking the work they have her do and all the projects. Jacob is going to daycare and Dodge. He is also enjoying both places. Jacob has started to become more interested in writing and drawing. He has started to draw people and superheros, they are wonderful to watch come to life. We keep going, learning and loving. It feels good and right for us.

smiles from ear to ear. from jacob, dad, grandpa, mom and the grandma's. annie was a good cheerer for jacob too! what fun to be playing a team sport! he figured out how to chase after the ball and not wait for it to come to him. when I got home from work last night he was sound asleep with his baseball hat right next to him!
